Yeah Gong was fairly tough. My photographic skills aren't really all that strong - but I make up for it by shooting a ton of shots and experimenting with different things. And renting that 85mm lens didn't hurt. ;)

After trying 1.4 and 1.8 on Friday I then settled in to shooting at 2.2-2.5 and then adjusting the shutter speed depending on what the lights were doing at the time. And I under-exposed everything. I also played some with the VIVID image setting vs NORMAL though I don't think the difference is all that drastic and I got passable photos either way. On Sunday I switched the metering to be center weighted.

Hey I just checked out your Flickr site. Looks like you got some really nice shots this weekend. You were right behind the soundboard eh? I was right behind the lightboard. ;)

I am really envious of your photographic chops, to be sure. I found the Gong set the hardest to shoot, I assume because they wanted to keep the mood dark and trippy? And have us focus on the graphics? I don't know. I really, really need a faster lens. I stuck with the zoom lens most of the time because it was just a smidge faster than the kit lens!

Dave, shoot me an email about those mods of yours. Maybe we can integrate them an make sure you never have to port them again from one version to the next ;)

Cheers!
Hi David, It's your cousin Patty. I bookmarked this site when your parents emailed about your album and I've been following the progress. I'm so happy for your success! I think my son Max (now 14) will really like this album. It's his type of music. Is it best for you to buy it directly here?

Hey Rob,

I haven't heard from him or know much of anything. Doug had a very breif phone call with him several years ago and he was living in Pheonix and playing in a band called "open eyes" or something like that. Was big into fusion at that point. I've tried googling him a dozen times and no luck.

Strangely enough one of the remaining two songs I'm working on for the record was co-written by Mark, Doug, and I in 89. Would loved to have Mark play on it but as I have no idea how to find him....
