I am really envious of your photographic chops, to be sure. I found the Gong set the hardest to shoot, I assume because they wanted to keep the mood dark and trippy? And have us focus on the graphics? I don’t know. I really, really need a faster lens. I stuck with the zoom lens most of the time because it was just a smidge faster than the kit lens!

Yeah Gong was fairly tough. My photographic skills aren’t really all that strong - but I make up for it by shooting a ton of shots and experimenting with different things. And renting that 85mm lens didn’t hurt. ;)

After trying 1.4 and 1.8 on Friday I then settled in to shooting at 2.2-2.5 and then adjusting the shutter speed depending on what the lights were doing at the time. And I under-exposed everything. I also played some with the VIVID image setting vs NORMAL though I don’t think the difference is all that drastic and I got passable photos either way. On Sunday I switched the metering to be center weighted.

Hey I just checked out your Flickr site. Looks like you got some really nice shots this weekend. You were right behind the soundboard eh? I was right behind the lightboard. ;)
